Staying hydrated is a vital part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The body uses water to maintain its temperature, remove waste, lubricate joints, and much more. It’s recommended to intake at least 8 glasses of water a day. Sometimes it is difficult to keep track of how much water we are drink. Try the following 4 things to increase your water intake.

1. Keep a water bottle with you throughout the day. Simply having a source of water near you will remind you to drink it.

2. Whenever you’re feeling hungry, drink water. We often confuse thirst with hunger, and end up eating when we are actually dehydrated. Doing this will prevent overeating.

3. At restaurants, don’t buy soda. Rather ask for a complimentary glass of water. Not only will this improve your health but it will also save you money.

4. Lastly, if you don’t like the taste of water, throw in some lemon or lime into your water to add both flavor and electrolytes.

Make sure to pay attention to how much water you’re getting into your system. Your body is made of mostly water, therefore it needs it to thrive and survive.
